When was your last check-up?

Regular check-ups and professional cleaning are the simplest way to keep teeth and gums healthy, and to catch problems while they’re still small.

Why prevention matters

Decay and gum inflammation usually start unnoticed and without pain. Plaque and tartar tend to sit exactly where your toothbrush can’t reach. At a check-up we see what you can’t.

How we approach it

  1. Examination

Teeth, gums, fillings and oral tissue, plus a gum screening (PSI) every two years.

  2. Tartar removal

Once a year, covered by statutory insurance.

  3. Professional cleaning

Thorough cleaning of all surfaces and gaps, polishing and fluoride.

  4. Home-care advice

Which brush, floss or interdental brush suits you.

Your questions

Treatment

How often should I come?

For a check-up, twice a year. We recommend professional cleaning at least once a year for adults, more often if you have gum problems.

Comfort

Is cleaning uncomfortable?

If your teeth or gums are sensitive, we work especially carefully. Just tell us if anything feels uncomfortable.

Timing

How long does it take?

A check-up usually takes just a few minutes; professional cleaning usually 45 to 60 minutes.

Cost

What does insurance cover?

Statutory insurance covers a check-up twice a year, tartar removal once a year and gum screening every two years. Professional cleaning is a private service, but many insurers contribute.
